Walking in Alleys
...has been a cool thing to do of mine since I have lived in this neighborhood. You have the opportunity to let your imagination run wild regarding the people that live around you based on what is in or near their overflowing dumpsters. Don't get me wrong, it's not exactly Jamaica Queens as far as density, but it is interesting creating your version of the story that's attached to a plaid couch with what looks to be the aftermath of a small air-to-ground-missile impact.
The texture on dumpsters alone can keep me walking for days.
There's a small section of streets where a few stencil artists have repeatedly hit with small phrases. The intent is to make you think about what you're doing, what we're doing as a nation or simply to stop you in your tracks for a few seconds. More to come on that.
Reports have come in regarding some familiar vinyl icons surfacing in SF this weekend. They made me very happy. Big thanks to those participating in this little exercise.
All this will begin to make more sense in the coming days. For now, it's going to be a busy Sunday. Lot's to do today and I'll be finishing up with a show, photographing mainly the lovely and talented Madeline Adams, who has a super-dope website style. Also, a brief reunion with Bad Weather California, great talent and John Vanderslice opener from the 06 show at the Hi-Dive. Belly up to the bar, kids. Let's look at some pictures later.
bah..blogger is being a u-know-what. Pic later then.

oooh, what is it?
I think it's an old wood-burning stove. All I could see was rust, sweet rust.
