Moving on to a new system is always fun but also daunting. You don't realize all the little pieces of crap you have downloaded on to your machine that make up part of your day, part of your workflow, if I do have one.

Now on to face all the little idiosyncrasies of licensing and making phone calls to software companies to say things like, 'yes, I know we already have it installed on another machine but that one's done for and this is the one that it will live on and so I need to get it up and running.'

One of our vendors is in Germany, so that's never easy either. In kind, they have a very strict policy regarding licensing issues and basically they scare the hell out of you by saying "!You will violate if you..blah blah all this scary stuff about having to pay for another license, etc."

It's all just annoying now, but I get it. Even as much music as I have downloaded in the past, I get the protection of intellectual property.
