This is what I do to avoid everything else
Statcounter is really addictive. Mine in particular. A friend had suggested I throw one on my site a while ago and I haven't really given too much thought to it but now all of a sudden, I look at it almost everyday.
It's like a reverse creep-out. It could make you or me uncomfortable. What I'm really focusing on here is not the hits or things like that but where you people come from. It's fascinating to me that somehow, people stumble upon this blog from Sao Paulo and the Phillipines and Mexico and Holland, even Germany. That's so cool to me. So I'm saying hello, in as much of an anti 'big brother saw you come in' way. I think you should come back often.
In turn I get to visit them, see 'who they are' (IP) and then they probably get to check my trail and see who I am and what I may have to say. If this is old news to everyone, then keep the snickering 'duh' to yourself for a minute and let me finish.
You could hit a random blog button a hundred times and get 89% crap I would think. Sometimes, it's something interesting, but you may not go back. Today I found brilliant post in what looks to be something I may go back to. It was exceptional.
I hope that when someone stumbles across this thing from a google search about 'how to filet a pike' -which incidentally I don't know how to do without getting cut- that they at least enjoy something, some small slice of image or labored text.
Whatever it is, thanks for coming by.
