More Ranch Please

Almost two years ago I jumped in my car with a handful of black and white films and at least 4 cameras to an old farm southwest of Denver. The people were very gracious to let me roam all over the property and just shoot whatever I wanted. Some of these images were shown in an exhibition October of last year and were very well-received. I took some Holga shots on Ilford 3200 (grain, baby graaaiiinn) and blew them up to something insane like 30 x 24. I still have most of them.

The point of this story is that I had a good day that day. Some of what I feel is my 'quality' black and white work came from that shoot. There's more than 30 images that I feel good about that have never seen the light of day. With that in mind, I ask you, dear reader, what would you spend your hard-earned cash on, if you were to collect some of them?

I'm beginning a project and I haven't got it all figured out yet. The framework looks something like this: I have this Ranch series that needs released. Some of the images are being saved for a certain publication in the event that they can be used in the next issue or 2. The ones that have never been released will be available by me, right here. I will show some images and tag them with 'Ranch Series.' I'll be hand-pulling silver prints for these. Yup, film in the age of digital. They will be slightly smaller than 8x10 as that is the best size/economy ratio for me right now. Please let me know if you're interested. At the end of each week, I will go into the darkroom and print a few of your requests. I'll be trying to consolidate my time there as much as possible. This first printing run will be insanely small and thus more valuable to collectors. Basically, you will have me working on commission to make you a custom print. If you request another size, we'll see what we can do. These prints will be very affordable, under a c-note, as a thank-you for continuing to read here and getting in early.

The images from Monday, as well as todays image are available. Please let me know in comments if you're interested or you can email me here. Feel free to tell a friend.

That's about it, kids. Have fun and let me know. I'm off to get some fresh chemicals. Maybe some experimental things...hmmm.

p.s. Organic Thompson raisins + brown sugar oatmeal + going to bed at 10pm = much better photoked. Now I have to figure out a proper 'mailto'. Let me know if it's not working, ok? Ok.
